On July 11, 1804 off the Hudson shore at Weehawken, the original Federalist, Alexander Hamilton was shot in a duel by Aaron Burr and died from his injuries. Since dueling is no longer socially acceptable, we suggest solving differences over a glass of this dual of zinfandel and syrah. Varietal: 50% syrah; 50% zinfandel Appellation: Dry Creek Valley Vintage: 2009 Fermentation: Each lot is fermented separately from only free run juice. The wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation and is aged 16 months in oak barrels. Aging: 16 months in oak Alcohol: 15.00% Aroma: Bright cherry jam. Taste: Dark fruit flavors with a hint of spice. Food Parings: Grilled and roasted meats, BBQ, pizza
