Aberlour Scotch Whisky Distillery Style Tasting Notes;
Nose: Mint toffee, sherry, malty and slightly nutty.
Palate: A medium body with a soft mouth-coating texture, orange, mint and spice.
Finish: Complex, fruit oak and toffee.
Founded 1879 by James Fleming.
Location Speyside region, Central district in the village of Aberlour.
Water Springs in Lour Glen.
An early distillery was established in the immediate area in 1826 by the last Gordon Laird. That at some point destroyed by fire.
James Fleming built the current distillery in 1879 on the location of St Drostan’s Well, an early Christian place of Baptism.
Initially this well was the water source. Nowadays spring water from Ben Rinnes is used
