Named Flechas de los Andes in homage to the five arrows(flechas) that symbolise the Rothschild family, the winery was created through the partnership of Baron Benjamin de Rothschild and Laurent Dassault in their quest for a great terroir at the foot of the Andes. The vineyard, which has been cultivated since 1999, enjoys a dry climate tempered by the high altitudes of the Andes (1100m): on this unique terroir, the Malbec grape variety reigns supreme. This partnership between the two families, as well as their common desire to produce an outstanding Argentine wine, gave birth to Gran Corte, a fine wine whose blend is mainly made of Malbec.

The 2011 is a classic Malbec, but undoubtedly Layer Cake. Big, brooding, black fruit, then rich earth, truffles and dark cocoa are at the front. The Sea of Stones vineyard is at its core, always evident with the thread of minerality that the deep alluvial cobblestones lend. This wine is so elegant in the mouth with fresh-picked blackberries, simmering chocolate sauce on the stove, and somewhere someone's cooking bacon ? so many layers, so little time.?
Specially reserved due to its exceptional features, Reserva wine is characterized by its elegance and complexity. It is made from carefully selected grapes from vineyards aged between 30 and 50 years old. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels and then additionally in bottles before release. The harmonious coexistence of fruit and wood over time has made this a great wine, characterized by elegance and complexity. Toasty yet ripe, showing ample mesquite and mocha notes to the raspberry ganache and rich plum fruit. Silky tannins line the dark, cream-tinged finish.
Selected grapes from Agrelo and Uco Valley are treated to long maceration and 12 months of oak treatment to produce this delicious, intensely fruity Malbec that features notes of blueberry and boysenberry with a touch of minerality.
